It's a wonderful day here in the northeast, but not even I can deny the stress of the holidays...

Having that said, I've been doing great, and I think it would be great to share these tips & tricks I use to eliminate stress...

Yoga

 

 

I may have a bias since I am a yoga instructor, but there is a reason why I dedicated all of that time and money into my certification - it works!

Yoga has been used for centuries to reduce stress, induce peace of mind, and strengthen the mind/body connection.

Although I practice daily, you don't need to in order to feel the effects - even just three times a week can dramatically reduce your stress levels.

Begin a Stress Journal

 

 

This method helps me through especially difficult times.

Just write down the place, date, and time of all of your stressful episodes. Note who you were with, what you were doing, and how it made you feel.

Then, you have 2 choices: write down solutions to these stressors, or if you can, avoid them entirely.

Learn to Say No

 

 

Saying no respectfully to not only others but yourself when it comes to stress factors is important!

This also comes to taking on additional responsibilities at work - if you really can't do anymore and it's taking it's toll on you, don't be afraid to say 'no.' 

Watch What You Eat & Drink

 

 

Whatever you put into your body, you are either feeding or fighting disease. Stress is a disease, no?

Everybody knows that leaning more towards a healthy diet reduces stress levels, but what exactly is a healthy diet?

A healthy diet is an alkaline diet. Disease (stress) can not live in alkaline environments, so it's common sense. Now what is an alkaline diet?

Low sugar, meat, and dairy, high plants & water intake. Apply that general principle to your lifestyle and I guarantee you will be much less stressed. 

Don't Allow Negative Information Into Your Lifestyle

 

 

What you put into your body is not just about food & drink, but also the entertainment.

The easiest way to lower your stress is to lower use of your phone, or at least lower the negative energy that comes out of your phone.

Delete news apps, unlike hateful pages on Facebook, and unfollow Instagram rant pages. They do you absolutely no good and will increase your stress.
